Chinese ambassador presents credentials to Angolan president

New Chinese Ambassador Gao Kexiang on Wednesday presented his credentials to Angolan President Jose Eduardo dos Santos.

 

The Angolan president held a cordial meeting with the new Chinese envoy, who conveyed greetings from Chinese President Hu Jintao to the Angolan leader.

 

The ambassador said China attached importance to developing the friendly and cooperative ties with Angola, and that as the top Chinese diplomat in Luanda, he was ready to promote and substantiate the strategic partnership between the two countries.

 

The Angolan leader asked the Chinese ambassador to convey his greetings to President Hu, and welcomed Gao as the Chinese new ambassador to Luanda.

 

The current status of the Sino-Angolan ties was satisfactory, and Angola was ready to learn from China's development experiences and to deepen the friendly and cooperative ties between the two countries and to expand bilateral cooperation in various fields, the Angola leader said.

 

Gao arrived in Luanda on Tuesday to replace Chang Bolun as the new Chinese ambassador to Luanda.
