The Eminent Persons Roundtable on China-Africa Cooperation was held in Beijing on March 25 under the theme "China's 15th Five-Year Plan and China-Africa Cooperation in the Modernization Drive of the Global South."
Organized by the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs (CPIFA), more than 60 representatives from China and over 30 African countries attended the Roundtable either online or in-person.
Key topics, such as China's 15th Five-Year Plan (2026-2030), zero-tariff policies, four global initiatives, Chinese modernization, and the 2026 China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges, were widely discussed during the meeting.
The representatives agreed that both sides should deepen the implementation of the outcomes from the 2024 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation, promote the alignment of China's 15th Five-Year Plan with Africa's development strategies, and support the development of both sides to benefit their peoples.
They noted that, as major forces of the Global South, China and Africa should meet the international uncertainties with the stability and resilience of China-Africa relations, make new advances in spearheading the modernization of the Global South, and open a new chapter in building a community with a shared future for humanity.
